Crofton Saints   1 - 12    Rustington FC U16's
Mid-Solent Youth Under 16 League Cup Round One

CRUSHING AWAY WIN IN THE CUP FOR BLUES

Rustington started the defence of their league cup with a crushing away win at Crofton.

From the start Rustington were on the top of their game and racked up a 4-0 lead within the opening 15 minutes with goals from Sam Barrett, James Harris, Ryan Harvey and Jamie Wrigley. A quick brace from Adam Plummer and further goals from Gary Peters and Ryan Harvey gave us an 8-0 lead at half time. It must be said that the scoreline was in no way flattering as Rustington played some scintillating and expansive passing football also striking the woodwork twice.

At the start of the second half Rustington were awarded a penalty that was saved by the Crofton keeper, but normal service was restored quickly with further goals coming from Sam Dowsett X2, Jordan Tribe and a last minute Nathan Stock strike.

To put this result into context and how well we played last seasons meetings with Crofton both ended up in 5-1 wins for the blues and if we had taken all of our chances another 5 or 6 could have been added.
