This Morning Rustington U16's kicked off their League season with a 10-0 drubbing of AFC Porcester.
After a less than pleasing start to the game when Rustington failed to play any of the flowing football that we are capable of, we went ahead after 15 minutes when a ball was slipped through to Sam Dowsett and he passed the ball across the front of the keeper into the far corner. Richard Kinyua made it two-nil after 20 mins with a jinking run into the box cooling side footing past the keeper.
These were the only high points of a poor dis-jointed first half display.
After being read the riot act at half time the boys were left in no doubt what was expected from them. Gary Peters and Grant Thetford were replaced by Mike James and Adam Plummer respectively
It took less than five minutes of the second half to show that the half time rollicking had worked when Ryan Harvey glanced in a near post header to make it three nil to the blues.
Further goals from Dowsett and Plummer eased Blues into a 5-0 lead by the hour mark.
Then the goal of the game arrived on 70 minutes when blues were awarded a free kick some twenty five yards out and after much discussion between Nathan Stock and Ryan Harvey the latter duly stepped up and curled the ball into the roof of the net off the far post to make it six. Two further goals from Plummer and a further one each from Dowsett and Harvey completed the rout and ensured that all three players completed opening day hat-tricks.
