Reserve team manager Mark Robertshaw is encouraged by his squads progress despite losing the first three pre season games.
"It's been a tricky week due to holidays and player unavailability, but there has been plenty of positives to take from the three games. Against Crowborough(1-3) we had a very young line up, including three u 16's, but we battled to the end against a big and experienced side."
"Against Chichester Hospitals (0-3) we passed the ball much better and made some good chances and were 'in the game' until the final five minutes when we ran out of steam and conceded two goals to leave an unfair reflection on the scoreline."
"Against Worthing United (2-3) we dominated long periods of the game, and created enough chances to win two games, but for a combination good 'keeping from the United stopper, and a lack of sharpness in front of goal we would have won the game."
"Blues reserves have used the games so far to introduce some new players, and there will some new faces again this week, so it is understandable that the team hasn't quite 'gelled' yet, but with four weeks until the reserve section kicks off there is plenty of time for the players to regain their fitness, and to build up an understanding before the first game away to Wick."
