Following a meeting of the management committee last night the club are delighted to announce that Mark Robertshaw has been confirmed as the new reserve team manager with Steve Collins named as his assistant.
In a difficult week for the club it was agreed following the AGM that the management committee would consider applications for the reserve team management position and subsequently Neil Pierce handed in his immediate resignation, on this basis Mark was interviewed for the position and following a very positive interview was offered the position.
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Neil for all his hard work over the past three seasons, where we have seen the reserves progress from Junior football to a side now competition at Intermediate level, along the way the reserves have reached the final of the Sussex Junior Cup and won the Division 2 (South) league title last season.
The future brings exciting challenges ahead, and with the excellent youth team set-up the club have invested in for the past 3 years we hope Mark and Steve can progress some of the young talent we have at the club into the reserve and first team set-ups and also retain last years reserve team squad to provide the balance of youth and experience that will be required.
I'm sure everyone will support Mark and Steve in this new challenge and also like to thank Neil for everything he has done for the club over the past three years.
