The Blues took another league double after comprehensively defeating the Swans. A game which Rustington never really lost control, was settled by an Adam Bibb penalty and a wonderful strike by Andy Boxall. The first chance of the match came for the Swans after ten minutes. Leaver crossing the ball into Bridle who sees his point blank effort miraculously saved by Andy McCarthy tipping over the bar. It was an effort Storrington could have built on, but Rustington found there way into the match, on the quarter hour mark - a Withers corss from the inside right channel nearly found the head of Richie Hellen at the far post, another through ball from Withers was not dealt with by the Swans defender and almost almost Chris Green through on goal.
Withers, along with James Butt were the main orchestrators in midfield and were dominating the game in the middle of the park with excellent support from Richie Hellen. Morten is replaced what seems to be an injury for Joey Cumber late in the half, preceeding a late semi-appeal from Steve Kirkham for a penalty.
Rustington start the second half as they begin the second, assuming control from the game and taking it by the scruff of the neck. It went into the 65th minute when Kirkham won a penalty just by the Storrington goal, the tackle by Blaydon adjuged to be unfair. Adam Bibb stepped up and lashed the ball into the top left of the net to break the deadlock.
James Butt a couple of minutes later created and almost finished a fine move, using Shaun Duffy down the right, won a ball from the pressure of the Swan left back and found the on-going Butt storming to the edge of the area, the resulting shot just going over the right hand post. Three minutes later came the equaliser. Andy Boxall, who should have lost the challenge on the left, was able to pluck the ball from underneath the defenders feet. Once set, Boxall screamed a beautiful 25 yard curling shot inside the right hand post to double the lead.
Boxall was replaced by Gibbs towards the end of the game, both Cumber and Lee Gibbs having efforts on goal, but the score remained the same until the end. An all round good performance from the Blues who will be looking to maintain this encouraging performance on the Blues next opponents, the Division 2 'hobos' Lancing.
